Heart ... soul ... passion! Three things painfully absent from current music trends. Anita Marie performs a piano-based cartes du jour of jazz-bossa-blues infused originals and covers, bursting with raw emotion, quintessence and life experience!

With vocals ranging from angelic to sultry, Anita immerses her listeners in all the emotions of life, love and heartbreak. Fascinated by the great songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, and Melody Gardot, Anita brings her interpretation to songs that are rich with deep and poignant lyrics. "It's wonderful to have a song with a beautiful or catchy melody, but if the lyrics are well-written and convey a deep message from the heart, then you've found gold at the end of the rainbow."

 

Although she grew up in Central Florida, Anita lived in Richmond, Atlanta and Seattle before relocating to Southwest Florida in 2020. But not before having the opportunity to perform at some of the famous local music venues in the Atlanta area - namely, Churchill Grounds, The Velvet Note and Twains with some of the best musicians in the world, while recording her own compositions in her studio.

She is currently in the Top 10 of the Jazz charts on Reverbnation, with over 4,000 fans. Anita also collaborated with composer/producer Nigel Bellis from New York on a song which has received nearly 250,000 views on YouTube.

 

Anita performs both original and cover songs in the Jazz, Bossa and Blues genres. She plays keyboard, and also writes the lyrics and music, as well as arranges and records her original work.
